Morphing

Only drawings!

If you read the previous page attentively you have noticed the critical difference – motion tweening works with symbols but morphing works with drawings .

It is hard to overestimate an importance of that statement. If you try to morph symbols – it won’t work and motion tweening for drawings is meaningless.

So, before applying morphing to your design elements, make sure that they are not symbols. Texts or separate letters are very temptating to shape. However even those are not "true symbols" they are also impossible to morph "as is". You will firstly need to "break apart" the letter to make it available for morphing. Use the "Break Apart" menu item under "Modify" menu or Ctrl+B shortcut. After this operation this certain letter becomes an ordinary drawings but not part of the font. If you have a text which consists of several letters you'll need to repeate "Break Apart" twice - firstly break text to letters and later to shapes.

Modified (broken apart) letters may be morphed easily.
